Roc the Ride 2018 will take place Oct. 12 - 14, including 24 cyclists who will travel 300 miles over the course of three days, raising awareness for Roc Solid's mission to build hope for families facing pediatric cancer.
They are cancer survivors, cancer parents and relatives, oncologists, children's hospital staff members and others who have been touched by pediatric cancer in some way. The action they are taking to make a difference falls right in between the impact cancer has had on their lives and the impact they will make for kids fighting the battle. The cyclists will visit area landmarks, children's hospitals and other sites important to Roc Solid's Virginia roots, honoring the community that continues to fuel Roc Solid's mission and growth.
Each Roc the Ride participant has committed to raising $3,500 to support Roc Solid's Play It Forward initiative, which constructs playsets and completes top-to-bottom room makeovers for kids fighting cancer.
